COVID-19 Update

Whilst we are delighted to be open, the safety of our guests and team, is our number one priority. Following the government's Covid19 Secure Policy and legislation, we have worked very hard to put in place systems so you feel safe and can relax and enjoy your time with us. With your understanding and continued support, we will continue to stay open, operating at about 70% capacity.

We are very lucky to have a large outdoor space and lots of different indoor rooms and spaces, where we can socially distance guests.

What to Expect?

At the White Hart, our guests and team are at the heart of everything we do. We have worked very hard to ensure that we put the wellbeing and health of our guests and team first and have designed clear guidelines to ensure that we are able to open safely.

 

Entrance: will be via the front door (on the main road), with a one way system (marked with arrows) around the premises. Exit will be via the restaurant door and then out towards the far end of the patio. We will not be using the bar door.

Face Masks: Please wear your face mask when entering the White Hart and whilst you are inside, until you are seated at your table. You may then remove your mask (and take a well deserved sip of wine!). If you need to move around inside the restaurant, please put your face mask back on. This legal requirement does not apply to outside.

 

Arrive: You will be welcomed on arrival and asked to hand sanitise.

Our Team: Our team will be wearing face masks.

Table Service: Once you are seated, we will ask that you do not walk around the pub unless you need to use the toilet. We will take your order, serve your food/drink and you can relax.

Toilets: One in one out. Sanitise before entering and sanitise when leaving.
 

"Owain's House Rules": There will be a copy on every table when you arrive but if you want to read in advance you are welcome.

Social Distancing

Capacity: To comply with social distancing and keep you safe, we will be operating at 70% capacity, so we can ensure sufficient space between tables and ensure spaced arrival slots, so we do not have queues.

Tables: All of our tables are at least 1.5m apart, most are 2m+.

Children: Children are welcome but must remain supervised at all times. We know it is tricky, so if you would like to take them for a walk around the veg patch, just let us know.

10pm Closing

We are now requried by law now to close at 10pm, which means guests will need to leave by this time. Our last table booking time will therefore be at 8:30pm but we will be opening earlier at 5:45pm, to ensure we can still accommodate our guests.

Safety

Training: All of our team have undergone Covid19 and service procedure training and Kay, Mark, Sarah and Owain have all completed management level training in addition.

Risk Assessment: We have undergone full company risk assessments and have consulted with all of our employees to ensure they feel safe and positive about being at work.

Cleaning: We are sanitising tables and cushions in between every guest - once the table is cleaned, there will be a "clean" sign placed on the table. Our team will be cleaning all contact points around the restaurant and toilets at least twice every hour (contact points will be minimised as much as possible and doors wedged open when the temperature allows). During closure, we have deep cleaned the entire building, including cellar, pipes, equipment and repainted.

Reservations

Reservations can be made online or by email/phone. Online is much preferred as it enables us to look after you and ensures we have enough time to sanitise and clean each table prior to the next booking, without queues building up. 

Maximum Numbers of Guests: You can now book a table for a maximum of 6 guests. These 6 guests can be from any number of households, sitting inside or out but social distancing still needs to be maintained between those different households. The exception to this is a single household/bubble of over 6 (where no limit applies). Please let us know how many households make up your party, so we can ensure you have a table large enough for the appropriate social distancing (please note that tables for parties consisting of more than 3 households are limited). Please support us in keeping you safe.

Table Time of 2 hours: To ensure we can give our guests the full White Hart experience and host all of your special occasions, we will be allowing 2 hours for every booking. This will mean that we have sufficient time to sanitise tables in between guests and can meet the new 10pm curfew.
