COVID-19 Update

Whilst we are delighted to be open, the safety of our guests and team, is our number one priority. We will not be following the government's stage 4 removal of restrictions as we do not think this is safe or responsible. We have worked very hard to put in place systems so you feel safe and can relax and enjoy your time with us and we will be retaining the vast majority of these. With your understanding and continued support, we will continue to stay open, operating at a reduced Covid-safe capacity.

We are very lucky to have lots of space and we have kept our orangery, where we can seat guests outdoors (covered in case of showers and with heaters for those cooler evenings).

What to Expect?

At the White Hart, our guests and team are at the heart of everything we do. We have worked very hard to ensure that we put the wellbeing and health of our guests and team first and have designed clear guidelines to ensure that we are able to open safely.

Entrance: Will be via the front door (on the main road) where you will be asked to hand sanitise and then taken to your table. There is a one way system (clearly marked with arrows and signs) around the premises. Exit will be via the patio path to the car park.

Face Masks: Our team will be wearing face masks. Guests can make their own decision as to whether to wear a mask.

Table Service: If you have a reservation inside, we will ask that you do not walk around once you are seated, unless you need to use the toilet. We will take your order, serve your food/drink and you can relax. This means we will not be allowing drinking standing at the bar. This will not apply outside.

Toilets: One in one out. Sanitise before entering and sanitise when leaving please.

"Owain's House Rules": There will be a copy on every table when you arrive but if you want to read in advance you are welcome.

Social Distancing

Capacity: To comply with social distancing and keep you safe, we will be operating at a reduced capacity, so we can ensure sufficient space between tables and ensure spaced arrival slots, so we do not have queues.

Tables: All of our tables are at least 1.5m apart, most are 2m+.

Children: Children are welcome but must remain supervised at all times. We know it is tricky, so if you would like to take them for a walk around the veg patch, just let us know.

Training: All of our team have undergone Covid19 and service procedure training and Kay, Mark, Sarah and Owain have all completed management level training in addition.

Risk Assessment: We have undergone full company risk assessments and have consulted with all of our employees to ensure they feel safe and positive about being at work.

Cleaning: We are sanitising tables and cushions in between every guest. Our team will be cleaning all contact points around the restaurant and toilets at least twice every hour (contact points will be minimised as much as possible and doors wedged open when the temperature allows).

Reservations can be made online or by email/phone. Online is much preferred because it gives you access to real time availability and enables us to look after you and ensures we have enough time to sanitise and clean each table prior to the next booking, without queues building up. However, if you do need to get in touch or have a booking which is larger than online allows, then please do so.

We will allow bookings from multiple households and for more than 6 guests. However, online reservations will be limited to 6.

Larger groups are welcome but we ask that you get in touch with us in person, so that we can make the reservation for you and ensure everyone can be seated safely (please note that this will limit the numbers we can take).

Please support us in keeping you safe.

If you have any questions or want to talk through any aspect of our policies personally, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Whilst things may look a little different, the White Hart magic is still there!

Thank You!
